Description | This RFP will be utilized by the City to secure the services of a qualified Design-Build Team to make a repair to a city sanitary sewer pipe that has collapsed under a retaining wall system installed next to the attached garage of an occupied single-family residential dwelling. Objectives to accomplish are: Design and construction of the collapsed 8 VCP gravity sewer repair Design and construction of the shoring for the adjacent residential structure Restoration/Preservation of the private retaining wall system and structure Mitigation of risk to nearby existing residential structure due to construction. The project shall be substantially complete within 90 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages of five hundred dollars ($500) per day shall be charged for every day thereafter until Substantial Completion is reached and accepted by the Owner. Final completion shall be 120 calendar days after the date of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages of five hundred dollars ($500) per day shall be charged for every day thereafter until the project is complete and accepted by the Owner. Noon on Tuesday, May 31, 2023. All questions or requests for clarification must be submitted to: purchasing@lawrenceks.org. Each proposal shall, as a guarantee of good faith on the part of the bidder, be accompanied by an acceptable bidder bond executed by the bidder and a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Kansas, in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. Each Contractor, to whom work is awarded, will be required to furnish a performance bond to the City of Lawrence, Kansas, Owner, in an amount equal to 100 percent of the amount of the contract awarded in each case. In addition, each Contractor shall furnish also a Statutory Bond to the State of Kansas, as required by Statute, to guarantee the payment of all labor and material bills.
