2023-B-Street Resurfacing

**As of February 9, 2023 , this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on March 7, 2023.**  In addition, the Contractor must furnish to the City at the time of the signing of the Agreement a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the Contract Documents. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all Bids and to waive informalities and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of the Contract Price. Liquidated damages for non-completion of the Work within the Contract Times will be assessed in accordance with the terms of the Contract. All entities bidding on this project must be pre-qualified with the Alabama Department of Transportation. Any sub-contractor for the project shall also be pre-qualified with the Alabama Department of Transportation. Bids are invited from all qualified respondents. The City of Daphne is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All minority business enterprises (MBE) and disadvantaged business enterprises (DBE) will be taken into consideration. No Bids will be considered unless the Bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly qualified to submit a Bid for this Project in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, as required by Chapter 8, Title 34 of the Code of Alabama (1975). In addition, non-residents of the State, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in the State of Alabama. In evaluating Bidders, the City will consider the qualifications of Bidders and may consider the qualifications and experience of Subcontractors, Suppliers, and other individuals or entities proposed for those portions of the Work for which the identity of Subcontractors, Suppliers, and other individuals or entities must be submitted as may be provided in the Supplementary Conditions. The City may conduct such investigations as the City deems necessary to establish the responsibility, qualifications, and financial ability of Bidders, proposed Subcontractors, Suppliers, individuals, or entities proposed for those portions of the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents. The City may disqualify Bidders that have had prior demands placed on a bid bond, payment bond, or performance bond within the last five (5) years prior to the date of this Bid submission. The City may disqualify Bidders that have prior or existing litigation arising from allegations regarding the quality of work performed on any contract within the last five (5) years prior to the date of this Bid submission. No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period ofsixty (60) dayssubsequent to the opening of Bids without the consent of the City Council of City of Daphne, Alabama.
