Franklin (FKN) VOR/BUEC, Franklin, VA Remote Transmitter/Receiver Replace Project

installing a new 12' x 20' x 10' Precast concrete shelter, (1) 30' folding pole for the BUEC, and (1) 30' pole for the DME, with all associated cabling. A new 4/0 AWG counterpoise will be installed around the proposed shelter. A new power feed and associated power rack will be installed from a transformer inside the FAA facility. The communications cable shall be intercepted with a precast concrete Hand-hole. The site fence and lease limits will remain unchanged. There will be a fiberglass junction box for FTI mounted on the exterior of the proposed shelter. The site will be conditioned by appropriately sized, redundant split system units. Once the construction is complete, and the proposed site is operational, the contractor will begin demolition of the existing VOR shelter. The foundation to the VOR shall remain, with all obstructions cut flush with the concrete.
