Description

1. Contractor shall furnish all personnel, materials and fees necessary to provide pest control services in all the facilities of Greenville County Schools for control and/or extermination of pests listed above. Facilities are defined to include actual school buildings, classrooms, offices, storage areas, food service areas, athletic stadiums, press boxes, and athletic facilities, storage areas for athletics and bands, all concession areas, playground areas and surrounding grounds (excluding Athletic Fields which are covered under a different contract). 2. Treatment for ants will be required at each service on the inside of the buildings and along the exterior within two (2) feet of the buildings. 3. The Contractor or a service representative shall be available to discuss problems or issues with a District Representative and advise how to properly control pests. The Contractor shall not bill or charge the District for these consultations. 4. Proper application methods shall be used when spraying for insects such as ants, silverfish, cockroaches, wasps, spiders and carpet beetles. Dusting or brush application methods shall be used for cracks and crevices; bait stations shall be placed where needed, and runway application or mechanical traps for rodent control shall be employed. 5. In food service areas, all insecticides shall be applied with crack and crevice or spot treatment using a low-pressure pinpoint application to eliminate the possibility of product contamination. All insecticides shall be approved for food service areas and break rooms by the District Representative. 6. The Contractor shall provide certification that all applicators are state-certified for the type of pest control being applied. Personnel performing the pest control service shall report to the District Representative each time service is performed and shall provide a report showing areas serviced, infestation found if applicable, and corrective action taken. Physical defects in the facilities conducive to infestations that are noticed by the applicator shall be reported in writing to the District Representative. Reports shall be forwarded at the end of each service to the Maintenance Department. 7. Chemicals used shall meet all applicable EPA, FDA, and USDA safety regulations and standards. The District desires that the amount and toxicity of chemicals used shall be the minimum required for adequate pest control and that all applications minimize potential danger to people and damage to the facility/premises. The Contractor shall provide each location with a written hazardous communication program. The program must include Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and a list of each of the chemicals used on the premises.
