Description | Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 30 section 39M. The conditions of employment and wage rates, as set forth by the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety shall prevail in the execution of the work under this contract. Estimated total cost of the base bids and six alternate bids in the project: Base Bid: $100,000 Add Alts: $600,000 Total: $700,000 Project Scope: The City of Springfield Department of Public Works is soliciting Unit Price Bid Proposals to perform annual maintenance services to the City's Flood Protection System. The project consists of work along approximately three and a half miles of earthen dikes, concrete floodwalls, and pressure conduit. Tasks include, but are not limited to, mowing, brush cutting, herbicide applications, nuisance wildlife control and other miscellaneous repair and maintenance tasks. The contract term is for one calendar year, with an option to renew the contract for two additional calendar years at the unit prices as submitted. The project consists of one Base Bid and six Alternate Bids. Alternate bids are for the replacement of riprap, concrete surface repairs and concrete joint repairs of the floodwall. The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. All questions regarding the bid or its specifications must be in writing and received by the Office of Procurement no later than August 17, 2022 by close of business.
