From Geotech Report 1. Review of project plans and construction specifications to verify that the recommendations presented in this report have been properly interpreted and implemented 2. Observe the earthwork process to document that subsurface conditions encountered during construction are consistent with the conditions anticipated in this report 3. Observe the subgrade conditions of the synthetic turf and pavement, and before placing structural fill; and 4. Observe the placement and compaction of structural fill and backfill, and perform laboratory and field compaction testing of the fill Recommended Inspections Per Specifications: 1. When excavations have reached required subgrade to determine if unsatisfactory soil is present 2. Subgrade compaction and proof rolling of pavement areas 3. Concrete mix and strength testing This may be less critical since there is no heavy vehicular concrete other than the maintenance access path to the field. The Contractor is required to submit testing results from the manufacturing plant. It’s up to the City is they would like to have third party jobsite testing of the concrete in addition to that. Some municipalities elect not to have that done. 4. Asphalt testing 5. Utility trench backfilling Synthetic Turf Field Testing 1. Double ring infiltrometer test to determine infiltration rate of field 2. Confirm minimum infiltration requirement of 50 in/hr per City of Durham requirements for permeable pavement design.
