Litter Removal San Marcos River

1. Remove all inorganic (man-made) litter within the water column from bank to bank on the San Marcos River, from the upstream-most point of City Park to Stokes Park and including the mill run in Rio Vista Park, and the two tributaries within state and city-owned properties. 2. Remove litter with care to minimize disturbance of substrate and plant stands. Litter removal in or around Texas wild-rice stands will be done in coordination with Contract Administrator, Melani Howard. 3. Use self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA) equipment or other comparable underwater breathing equipment. Snorkeling is also acceptable where practical. Walking on the substrate is not allowed. At no point will any type of underwater vacuum be used during this operation. 4. Separate recyclable materials from landfill items collected during clean-up operations. Transport all landfill items to the City dumpster located behind the San Marcos Animal Shelter, 750 River Road, for disposal. This dumpster site is open weekdays between 8:00 and 4:00. Recyclable materials will be transported to the Green Guy Recycling, 967 Highway 80, San Marcos Texas 78666.
