Description

Project Description: Project includes the construction of a baseball/softball stadium & field house using bond issue funds for the Meridian School District at Meridian Senior High School campus. Site demo, regrading, & civil road work are also included. Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until the bid time and date at the location given below. Bid proposals must be delivered in a sealed envelope marked plainly on the outside of the envelope with the following: "Meridian High School Baseball/Softball; Project number 22034.03 to be opened April 18, 2023" Envelope shall be addressed to Dr. Amy J. Carter, Superintendent of Schools, 1019 25th Avenue, Meridian, MS 38391. In addition, the envelope shall list the bidders Company name, Company address and all applicable state and local license and registration numbers of the bidder. Envelopes not so marked are submitted at the risk of the bidder as the Owner and Architect assume no responsibility for the premature opening of any bid envelope by any employee of the Owner or Architect. Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows: In addition, Electronic bids may be submitted through the website www.dalebaileyplans.com Electronic bids are not required by the MPSD but offered as another means to submit a bid. Single stipulated sum bids will be received for all work required by the contract documents in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate only upon the blank proposal forms provided with the specifications and must be accompanied by Proposal Security in the form of a Certified Check or acceptable Bid Bond in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Base Bid: such security to be forfeited as liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute a contract and post Performance and Payment Bonds in the form and amount within the time specified. The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner. Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. The owner reserves the right to postpone action and final decision for a period of up to ninety (90) days. Bidders' Questions: Architect will provide responses at Pre-Bid Conference to bidders' questions received up to two business days prior to conference. Viewing Procurement and Contracting Documents: Examine after March 16, 2023, at the locations below: Bid documents are being made available via original paper copy or digital CD. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder.
