Description

1. Ducktrap Road – (approximately 1.35 miles +/- of length, width to match existing pavement). The paving will overlay previously installed bituminous concrete. The paving is to match the current paved width of the road from the Beach Road to the Atlantic Highway. After sweeping the road shall be tack coated, at a rate of .02 gallons per square yard, prior to pavement placement. The road shall then be shimmed and compacted to a depth of ½ inch. In addition to the shim course, Ducktrap Road will receive an additional course compacted to a 1.5-inch thickness of MDOT 12.5mm Mix. 2. Howe Point Road – (approximately 0.12 miles +/- of length, width to match existing pavement). The paving will overlay previously installed bituminous concrete. The paving is to match the current paved width of the road from the Atlantic Highway (Route 1) to the current end of the pavement. After sweeping the road shall be tack coated, at a rate of .02 gallons per square yard, prior to pavement placement. The road shall then be shimmed and compacted to a depth of ½ inch. In addition to the shim course, Howe Point Road will receive an additional course compacted to a 1.5-inch thickness of MDOT 12.5mm Mix. 3. Handwork (MDOT 12.5mm mix) – The Town of Lincolnville will require handwork at certain driveway entrances, to be designated by the Town, to provide for smooth driveway transitions. This item will also be used for any surface course over the 19.0mm mix handwork (see below). 4. Handwork (MDOT 19.0MM mix). Contractor will be required to excavate 3.5 inches of gravel out of handwork locations prior to placing and compacting two lifts of pavement. The base course of pavement shall be MDOT 19.0mm Mix compacted to a depth of 2 inches. In addition to the base course, the road will receive an additional course compacted to a 1.5-inch thickness of MDOT 12.5mm Mix (paid separately).
