Description

Design and construction of new industrial space for the Monroe Community College Finger Lakes Workforce Development Center (FWDC). The renovation will comprise of the 5th and 6th floors, each approximately 25,000 sq ft, as well as the Mechanical equipment on the 7th Floor as necessary to properly condition the FWDC. The 6th floor will primarily be instructional space, whereas the 5th floor will mainly consist of open space for collaboration, with a small portion of instructional area. The 6th floor is envisioned to be easily reconfigurable and equipped with all of the mechanical and electrical systems needed to facilitate this design. This includes, but is not limited to, bus ducts to provide over-head power in multiple voltages and both single and three-phases, overhead compressed air lines and water, high-speed wireless data, as well as the opportunity to create intranet configurations for connections from computer spaces to equipment. Much of the space is expected to have flexible walls, allowing for changes in footprint as the program offerings adjust to local industry needs.
