Description | 1. Strip all existing coatings utilizing an Ultra High-Pressure Water Blaster capable of a minimum of 35,000 psi. All coatings removed and stripped will be contained and hauled away by the successful Bidder; no paint chips or contaminates will be left on Authority property. 2. Apply Hydra-Kleen Eco-Friendly Fire Hydrant Cleaner, or equivalent, to threads on hydrant and caps. After application, clean with wire brushes until all foreign residue is removed. Tape off and protect once completed. 3. Apply International Pre-Prime 167 High Performance Penetrating Epoxy Sealer, or equivalent, to hydrant. 4. Apply 3 coats of Devoe Devthane 379 High Performance Aliphatic Urethane - Safety Yellow, or equivalent, to hydrant. 5. Apply Rustoleum Noxyde Ultra Rugged Elastomeric Coating, or equivalent, to vertical surface of base flange of hydrant. 6. Remove tape, solvent wipe, and apply Hydra-Eze Anti-Seize & Thread Compound, or equivalent, to cap threads of hydrant. 7. Remove tape, solvent wipe, and apply Sanchem NO-OX-ID A-Special Heavy Duty Rust Preventive and Lubricant, or equivalent, to wrench ends on caps of hydrant. See Exhibit F. |
