Description

Repair the stone masonry arch bridges on Whitehall Lane near Mile Post Markers 0.6 and 0.9 (from Highway 29) between Rutherford and the City of St. Helena. The 2014 South Napa Earthquake damaged the barrier rails and headwalls of the 10-foot long by 24-foot wide bridge at MPM 0.6 and the 16-foot long by 17-foot wide bridge at MPM 0.9. The work at MPM 0.6 includes repairing barrier rails, replacing stones, and pressure grouting the headwalls. The project at MPM 0.9 includes repairing barrier rails and pressure grouting the headwalls. One lane traffic control is required during construction. Bid results of the three apparent low bidders with their subcontractors list will be on the above website the following day after the bids are publicly opened and read. In accordance with California Public Contract Code Section 3400, bidders may propose equals of products listed in the technical specifications or project plans by manufacturer name, brand or model number, unless the technical specifications or plans specify that the product is necessary to match others in use. Complete information for products proposed as equals must be submitted to the Public Works Office for review at least 10 Days before the time specified for bid opening. This submission deadline shall control over the timeline set forth in Section 6-1.05 of the Standard Specifications. In accordance with Section 1771.1 of the Labor Code, a contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirement of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public works, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. It is not a violation of this section for an unregistered contractor to submit a bid that is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Professions Code or by Section 10164 or 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code, provided the contractor is registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 at the time the contract is awarded. No bid will be considered unless it is made on a blank form furnished by the County Engineer of Napa County and is made in accordance with the provisions of the proposal requirements and conditions set forth under the Standard Specifications of the State California, Department of Transportation, except as modified in the above referred to Special Provisions. A mandatory bidders list will be required to participate in bidding for this project. The deadline to submit an entry for the list will be August 11, 2022, 5:00 P.M.; to be placed on the bidders list, contact Graham Wadsworth (Graham.Wadsworth@countyofnapa.org) with the following: 1.
