Description | The Supplier shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, expendable equipment, temporary services and supervision required to provide and deliver the following: 1. Apply 2” thick covering of mulch to designated landscape beds and tree rings in the Great Parks of Hamilton County as specified in the pre-bid meeting and as directed by the Great Parks of Hamilton County Project Manager. 2. Mulch should be double shredded hardwood bark mulch, comparable to “BZAK Mill Run Mulch.” 3. All bed clean-up, pruning, weed control and bed edging will be provided by Great Parks of Hamilton County prior to the mulch installation. 4. Mulch will be applied to a uniform depth of two inches (2”) and will be held back away from the trunks of trees by six inches 5. In areas where landscape beds meet paved areas, the Contractor will work mulch into the tapered area provided by GPHC personnel so that at the edge of the paved area a two inch depth (2”) of mulch will be at the same height as the top surface of the paved area 6. Final clean-up of area will be responsibility of the Contractor. All walkways, trails, paved areas, lawn areas and any other area where the Contractor is working shall be thoroughly cleaned of any debris generated by the mulching process. This includes the removal of any mulch which may have accumulated outside of the landscape bed and tree ring areas. 7. Bids may be submitted for individual locations or for any combination of available locations. 8. Multiple contracts may be awarded to the best and/or lowest proposals. 9. GPHC reserves the right to reject any quote or modify cubic yardage or location of mulch applied in the contract. 10. If the mulch type needs to be changed, the Contractor must supply a sample of the change to the GPHC Project Manager for approval before use. The double shredded hardwood bark mulch shall be seasonally made and free of any man-made materials, pallets, construction debris, demolition debris, and any other foreign matter. The double shredded hardwood bark mulch shall not contain poison ivy, poison oak, recycled wood, or chemically treated wood. |
