Description | Deadline for submission of written questions Friday, June 23rd, 2023 2:00 PM Project Description: It is envisioned that this new center will be an approximately 4,000 sq.ft. facility with 6 to 8 issuance stations. The facility will have adequate space for queuing customers, and dedicated areas for 4 customer kiosk and 20 testing computers. The testing area will be designed in a way that will prevent noise from interfering with customers. It is also envisioned that there will be adequate space near the customer exit door for a selfservice kiosk. The administrative portion of the building should be able to accommodate 2-3 offices, a supply closet, and other ancillary support space as needed. The new building must adhere to a minimum 10 feet setback from adjacent side property lines. In addition to the building, the site must be designed in a manner as to provide space for two basic skills test courses and one motorcycle test course that must be separated from the main parking lot with limited access. These test areas should be easily accessible from a covered area connected to the building for conducting car inspection prior to their entering the testing areas. The existing testing pad may be expanded however soil conditions will need to be investigated for feasibility. The existing facility will maintain operations during construction and the project will include demolition of the existing building following the opening of the new facility. Construction should not impact daily operations. Project will also include new parking striping and some paving/repaving. Project Delivery Method: The delivery method for this Project will be Design-Build. The Owner will contract with a General Contractor/Construction Manager, as the lead, who has teamed with a Design professional or has in-house design professionals, in order to perform the Design-Build Services. Project Schedule The Design-Builder services are anticipated to commence September 2023. Design phase and preconstruction services are expected to begin immediately upon execution of the contract. |
