59th St W from Cortez to Manatee Avenue - 6108360 - Manatee County

This project is included in the Manatee County's fiscal years 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of December 27, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, funding is allotted to fiscal year 2025. A detailed scope has not yet been released. Widen the existing two lane roadway to a four lane roadway with a center left turn lane and/or median from Cortez Road to Manatee Ave (approximately 2.3 miles). The project will also include adding and upgrading pedestrian and bicycle facilities, replacing and upgrading traffic signals as needed to accommodate the widening, and adding lighting. Project will require right-of-way acquisition. Due to right-of-way constraints the improvement will not meet the County's standard typical 4-lane section. This project includes the limits of the former functional improvement project TR01455 (33rd Ave Dr W - Cortez Rd) and the former sidewalk project TR01552 (Sun Chase Apt - Cortez), both of which are no longer needed as their scope is included or made obsolete by the 6108360 project. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
