Description

General work description: A contract to provide trucking services consisting of trucks and operators to support road and flood control maintenance repair work (Work), including transportation of, but not limited to, debris, aggregate, hot mix asphalt, and rock, on an as-needed basis, not to exceed $600,000, in various locations within Contra Costa County, as requested by the Public Works Department. A contract to provide trucking services consisting of trucks and operators to support road and flood control maintenance repair work (Work including transportation of, but not limited to, debris, aggregate, hot mix asphalt, and rock, on an as-needed basis, not to exceed $600,000, in various locations within Contra Costa County, as requested by the Public Works Department. Maximum On-Call Contract Amount: $600,000 for a one-year period with the option of two one-year extensions. The Contractors attention is directed to Section 10-1.02, Order of Work and Attachment A, Scope of Work, in these special provisions. Prospective Bidders shall be located within 70 miles driving distance from 2475 Waterbird Way, Martinez, California 94553. The County, in its sole discretion, may award one, two, three, or four $600,000 on-call contracts to the first, second, third, and fourth lowest responsible bidder(s), as applicable. Each bidder may be awarded only one on-call contract. Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be viewed but not obtained at the Public Works Department, 255 Glacier Drive, Martinez, California 94553-4897, Monday - Thursday (7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), and Friday (7:00 a.m. - noon and 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.). The specifications can be obtained via the Contra Costa County Public Works Department The Public Works Department does not guarantee the arrival of the plans and specifications in time for bidding. You may obtain electronic PDF copies of the plans and specifications upon purchase of the bid package for no additional service charge. This project is to be advertised pursuant to Public Contract Code 22037. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990. The Contractor must possess a valid California Drivers License Class A Commercial License at the time the Contract is awarded. Prior to submitting a bid, the Contractor and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5, subject to limited legal exceptions under Labor Code section 1771.1. This contract will be subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1771.4. Bids must cover the entire project, and neither partial nor contingent bids will be considered. The Board has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages applicable to this work. The prevailing rate of per diem wages is on file with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, and is incorporated herein by reference thereto, the same as if set forth in full herein. For any classification not included in the list, the minimum wage will be the general prevailing rate for Contra Costa County. All bidder questions/inquiries received before 12:00 p.m. the Thursday prior to the scheduled bid opening will be posted with their responses on the Public Works Questions received after this deadline will remain unanswered.
