Description

Airport Road: is a mill and overlay of from the West Entrance of Enterprise Court to approximately 61' West of Baron Lane. There is also a waterline crossing that will be replaced with approximately 100' of 12" C900. The roadway will be milled 2" and overlayed with one 3" mat. The drive lanes will received a Tencate MVP 500 or equivalent prior to the overlay installed per the manufacturer's recommendation. Two driveways will require full depth asphalt. Removal and base prep at these locations will be performed by the City of Rifle. All other driveways will receive a two foot wide mill and sliver fill apron. Striping will be water based. All striping layout shall match existing and will be the responsibility of the contractor. Traffic control will be the responsibility of the contractor. Airport road is to remain open during construction. Business access shall remain with the only exception being when asphalt is placed. At this time it is understood that access will be blocked until the mat is sufficiently cool to drive on. Enterprise Court: The project will also pave 175 lf of Enterprise Court where removal and excavation is performed by the City of Rifle. The asphalt is 6" thick and shall be placed in 3 lifts Railroad Avenue: The Railroad Avenue bridge asphalt will be milled and cleaned to an acceptable surface based on the waterproofing membrane's manufacturer recommendation. The approaches will be removed full depth approximately 10' to the north and 25' to the south of the bridge joint. This will be replaced with a 6" mat placed in three lifts. The bridge overlay will be 2" and striping will be by others. A method statement for milling, cleaning, waterproofing, and paving shall be submitted within 2 weeks of the NTP for review of the COR and a structural engineer to verify loads being applied to the bridge during construction activities. This submittal should include model numbers for the equipment used. W 7th Street: The project will also pave 237 lf of W 7th St between Mesa and Moki Ave where removal and excavation is performed by the City of Rifle. The asphalt is 4" thick and shall be placed in 2 lifts Cemetery: The trails at the Cemetery will be removed, scarified, moisture conditioned, compacted, and put back with a 5" asphalt mat placed in two lifts. The trails are 9' wide with a 6"-1' shoulder on both sides. The shoulder shall be moisture conditioned and compacted Class 6. Trails shall be removed and repaved in a sequence that allows access to the portions of the cemetery that are not under construction.
