Description

Work includes the construction of approximately 6,600 feet of 10-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) force main in the Edgemere area of Baltimore County. The force main will extend from the Penwood Terrace Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) located on the north side of Penwood Avenue, approximately 1,050 feet west of the intersection of North Point Road and Penwood Avenue, to Manhole (MH) #31880 located at the intersection of Willow Avenue and North Point Road. The new force main will generally follow an existing 12-inch cast iron force main, which currently serves the Penwood Terrace and Fort Howard SPSs. The new force main will be constructed within the public rights-of-way of Penwood Avenue and North Point Road. Work shall consist of erosion and sediment control; trench excavation; support of excavation and dewatering; off-site disposal of all excavated material; furnishing and installing force main piping and appurtenances, precast concrete valve vaults, valves, manhole lining system, backfill, and hot mix asphalt for trench pavement restoration; hot mix asphalt overlay of Penwood Avenue and Wood Avenue; maintenance of traffic; and all incidental work necessary to construct and complete the work.
