Description

1. Blackbird Elementary School and Shay Elementary School roofs shall be inspected on a bi-weekly basis (every other week or once every two weeks). Snow removal shall be performed when the snow depth meets or exceeds (20) twenty inches. Snow monitoring will cease when there is clearly no threat of snow remaining in the winter season. It is assumed that snow monitoring costs will be built into each occurrence of snow removal. 2. Stacking of removed snow will be permitted only in areas specified by the Superintendent. Removed snow must not encroach on or touch any outside playground equipment, fences, sidewalks, concrete, asphalt, or parking areas. In the event the snow piles accumulate beyond a safe level, the Contractor will remove them. Removed snow must not block any egress doors, windows, entrance and exit doors, nor interfere with the visibility when looking out of classroom windows. Removed now must be a reasonable length or distance from the building. Common sense is expected. 3. Snow Removal will occur when: • Within 24 hours of inspection if it meets or exceeds 20 (twenty) inches in depth. • If conditions do not meet or exceed 20 (twenty) inches, when it is mutually agreed by both Harbor Springs Public Schools and the contractor, removal of snow shall occur.
