Description | For cemetery maintenance of several town cemeteries. Cemeteries include: Old Center Cemetery [near the top of Meetinghouse Hill Road]. Work includes spring leaf and debris cleanup and removal, mowing a minimum of three times per month during the growing season (May, June, September, October) and others when needed, weed-cutting along walls and around markers, fall cleanup and leaf and debris removal. This is the only currently active cemetery. Fellows-Sanborn Cemetery [Middle Road near Leavitt's Hill] Spring and Fall cleanup with debris removal, mowing three times per season. Haynes Cemetery [Haynes Road] Spring and Fall cleanup with debris removal, mowing three times per season. Tilton Cemetery [across from 106 Nottingham Road] Spring and Fall cleanup with debris removal, mowing three times per season. Parade Cemetery [Nottingham Road near Parade Ground] Spring and Fall cleanup with debris removal and particular attention paid to leaf removal at front step area. Stick removal during all seasons, mowing three times per season. Some additional marker stabilizing may be required. Work at Parade Cemetery includes the adjacent Academy Cemetery. For all cemeteries, the first cleaning and mowing should occur prior to Memorial Day. Additional requirements include regular reports to the cemetery trustees of cemetery wellbeing including notice of tree or brush issues, overturned or damaged markers, and any other concerns. Maps and directions to all contracted areas will be handed out at the meeting. Bids will only be accepted from bidders who attend the mandatory bidder's meeting. The expectation is that mowing will begin at the start of the growing season and end when the growing season is finished. Any changes to mowing schedule will need to be authorized by the Facility Supervisor prior to the requested change taking place. Bid Submission Use "Vendor Bid Form" following RFB, page 2 for all Bids. Bids shall be submitted according to the format indicated on the form; any bids submitted not using the format will be rejected. Provide proof of current liability insurance with the Bid. Please mark each bid envelope clearly with: "2023 - Cemetery Mowing & Trimming - 03" The Town of Deerfield reserves the right to reject any and all bids. |
