Innovation District Fiber Enhancement and Smart Cities Plan

From qualified firms for development of the Broome County Fiber Enhancement and Smart Cities Plan. The Plan will serve as a roadmap to help guide the County and our partners in efforts to modernize digital and physical infrastructure in the iDistricts and Opportunity Zones and define priorities and strategies for effective implementation. Identify strategic facilities and development sites where access to the open-access fiber network may enhance site marketability or provide opportunities for growth, expansion, or efficiency improvements. For the fiber extensions identified, define the route and cost for implementing these system upgrades. In consideration of the current and planned fiber network, assess opportunities for integration of smart cities technologies within the Innovation Districts and Opportunity Zones with a focus on enhancing these areas as innovation hubs and attractive destinations for talent, new business development, and investment.
