Description | AIP NO.: 3-26-0008-XX23 The City of Battle Creek will accept sealed bids for the ATCT Generator project. This project consists of the replacement of the existing diesel-powered standby generator for the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) with a new natural gas-powered standby generator. The project will also include installation of natura gas line to new generator, including utility coordination, the replacement of automatic transfer switches, and other electrical work as required for new generator. The project shall be complete and ready for final inspection within Sixty (60) days from the effective date of Notice-to-Proceed. BID SUBMITTAL QUESTIONS: Email: Purchasing@battlecreekmi.gov PREVAILING WAGES/DAVIS BACON: Required for this project. See attached wage rates at the end of this document. Contractor shall abide by all the requirements set forth in Section 208.09, PREVAILING WAGES ON CITY PROJECTS, of the City's Administrative Code. Each bid must be accompanied by a standard form bid bond, made payable to the City of Battle Creek, in an amount of not less than five (5%) percent of the base bid submitted. Failure of any accepted bidder to enter into a contract for the work will cause forfeit of the bid security PERFORMANCE/LABOR/MATERIALS BONDS: The accepted bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond and labor/materials payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract and insurance certificate upon forms acceptable to the City MBE (7.2%), WBE (6.9%), DBE (3%) Replacement of an existing diesel fired standby engine generator with a new natural gas fired standby engine generator. The new natural gas fired standby engine generator is being sized same as the existing generator. Automatic transfer switch(es) are included in this work and are also sized the same as the existing switches being replaced. Contractor shall include in his scope electrical engineering to verify that the size of the generator and transfer switches are adequate and that downstream devices are adequate and coordinated with new equipment. Contractor shall be responsible for the engineering design and installation of a new natural gas line. The gas line work shall be coordinate with the natural gas company (SEMCO). Stamped engineering drawings for the electrical design and gas line shall be submitted prior to ordering of equipment and installation of gas line. This delegation of design shall be included in the contractor's cost for the equipment being installed. Specifications for the new generator and automatic transfer switches are included in this bid package and shall be used as a minimum standard. Reference drawings and specifications from the original design have been included in the bid package for the contractor's use. It is the intention of this project to reuse the existing cabling and pathways for the new generator and switches. |
