Description

Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Centralia, Washington. Completed plans call for the construction of a 10,500-square-foot clubhouse / community center; for site work for a clubhouse / community center; 4,600-square-foot museum; and 2,230-square-foot museum. The United Learning Center Project consists of a new, single-story, grounds-up building with 3 non-separated tenant spaces for an early learning center, and children's museum, and future child-focused business. The design also includes a partially covered playground yard. The building will be sprinklered type V-B consisting of concrete slabs and footings and wood-framed structure, including cross-laminated timber and glued-laminated construction. Roofing systems include sloped standing seam metal and TPO singly ply membrane. Exterior cladding includes brick, composite wood wall panels, and fiber-cement wall panels. Total building area is 17,300 sq. ft., broken down as follows: a. Early Learning Center: 10,500 sq. ft. b. Children's Museum:4,600 sq. ft. c. Tenet Space: 2,230 sq. ft An open park space on northern most part of the site accommodates water retention pond and other Work indicated in Contract Documents. Certified check, bank cashier's check, or bid bond is required with each Bid, equal to 5 percent of the total Base Bid only. Make checks payable to the United Way of Lewis County; furnish bond executed by a licensed bonding agency authorized to do business in the locality of the project. Attach to provided Bid Form. Pursuant to RCW 39.12, no worker, laborer, or mechanic employed in the performance of any part of this Contract shall be paid less than the prevailing rate of wage (in effect as the date the bids are due) as determined by the Industrial Statistician of the Department of Labor and Industries. Copies of the prevailing wage rate schedule are available directly from the Department of Labor and Industries A mandatory minimum 15 percent apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours are a requirement of the construction contract.
