Accordingly, offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed. (b) Site visits may be arranged during normal duty hours by contacting: Dale Hastings 3709 Warwood Ave., Wheeling, West Virginia 26003-9776 (304) 277-2127 The US Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a requirement to rehabilitate the existing sewage pump station at Pike Island Locks and Dam, Ohio County, West Virginia. This requirement is to rehabilitate the existing sewage pump station to include replacement of the submersible pumps, motors, motor controls, portions of the discharge piping and all associated pump station hardware exposed to the untreated sewage. The existing concrete sump vault and valve pit will be reused. In general, the tasks required in the performance of this contract include: Secure and pump out the vault, dispose of the pumped waste. Clean and sanitize the vault interior in preparation for equipment replacement. Remove existing sewage pumps, supply and install two (2) new vertical electric submersible grinder pump/motor units in accordance with these specifications. Remove the existing 4 diameter discharge pipe from each pump discharge up to and including the discharge check valve and replace the piping in kind in accordance with these specifications. Piping to be supplied by the Contractor. Remove existing pump guide rails and lifting chains and provide and install new stainless steel pump guides and stainless lifting steel chains. Remove existing electrical components and hardware to include the dual pump motor controller, all cable in the vault, all junction boxes, watertight fittings and vault seal-off penetrations, all float switch and alarm actuators located in the vault, and all mounting hardware. Replace all items removed with all new contractor supplied electrical components and stainless steel brackets and mounting hardware. Test the completed system.
