Description | This contract includes additions and renovations to the existing Cecil County Animal Shelter located at 3280 Augustine Herman Highway in Chesapeake City Maryland, to expand the Cattery area including: 2 additions on either side of the existing Cat Free-Range Room totaling approximately 1100 square feet; Site work; Plumbing; HVAC including installation of new Air Handling Unit; Electrical including installation of new backup generator; and, Fire Protection work including sprinkler system and fire pump house. Questions must be received by 3:00 p.m. on 09/06/2023 All questions shall be directed to the Purchasing Agent only at PurchasingOffice@cecilcountymd.gov No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check or an acceptable bid bond of the bidder, payable to the order of Cecil County, Maryland, for five (5) percent of the total base bid amount, which will be forfeited to the County as liquidated damages in case an award is made, and the Contract and Bond are not promptly and properly executed as required within ten (10) days after the award of the Contract. The Contract Payment and Contract Performance Bond are each to be in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the Contract amount. If the TOTAL BID AMOUNT is less than $100,000.00, the Contract Payment and Performance Bonds will not be required. Should work not be completed by 130 workdays the Contractor shall be assessed $2,000 per work day Liquidated Damage Cost for each day thereafter until the project is completed and accepted by the Owner. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. Cecil County, Maryland reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities. All contract awards are based upon budgetary constraints. |
