2018 Roadway Paving and Reconstruction Project - Phase IV Improvements to Macarthur Avenue

The project generally consists of concrete, roadway paving / reconstruction and utility improvements to MacArthur Avenue between Washington Road and Main Street rights-of-way located within the Borough of Sayreville. The work involved with these improvements includes the maintenance and protection of traffic; construction of approximately 4 +/- of various types of storm sewer inlet / manhole structures; repair / reconstruction of approximately 46 +/- of various types of existing storm sewer inlet / manhole structures; removal and replacement of approximately 5 +/- of existing deteriorated storm sewer manhole frames and covers; installation of approximately 35 lineal feet +/- of 6" diameter cement lined DIP Class 52 water main, wet tap connection to existing water line, installation of new 16" butterfly valve including all connections and appurtenances; removal and replacement of approximately 45 +/- of existing water service curb boxes; abandonment of approximately 42 +/- of existing in-active water services; removal and replacement of approximately 38 +/- of existing deteriorated sanitary sewer manhole frames and covers; removal of approximately 1,600 lineal feet +/- of various types of existing concrete curbs; removal of approximately 7,500 square feet +/- of various types of concrete sidewalks, driveways and/or aprons; construction of approximately 1,600 lineal feet +/- of new standard Borough concrete curb, approximately 7,000 square feet +/- of new standard concrete sidewalk and approximately 1,000 square feet +/- of new standard reinforced concrete driveways and/or aprons; furnishing and installation of cast-in-place handicapped sidewalk ramp delineation; restoration of existing hot mix asphalt driveways and parking areas; roadway milling of approximately 20,000 square yards +/- of existing asphalt surface course pavement; cutting / removal of approximately 1,000 square yards +/- of existing roadway asphalt pavement; the installation of dense graded aggregate base course, if and where ordered; the installation of approximately 700 square yards +/- of reinforced concrete permanent base course trench repair / pavement restoration; furnishing and installation of approximately 24,000 lineal feet +/- of joint sealer; installation of approximately 400 tons +/- of hot mix asphalt base course material; resurfacing the entire roadway with approximately 2,400 tons +/- of hot mix asphalt surface course material; application of approximately 16,000 lineal feet +/- of traffic pavement stripes / markings (4" wide lines); application of approximately 1,500 square feet +/- of traffic pavement markings (symbols), furnishing and installation of topsoil / seed; and all other preparation, restoration and associated work in accordance with the Contract Documents.
