2nd Street Water Main Installation

Professional services to install approximately 305’ of 8” water main and appurtenances for the City of Greenville. Project Scope: 1. Install 1 hot tap with 8” valve connecting to a 10” PVC water main at Oak St. 2. Install 305’ of 8” SDR21 water main along 2nd St. just inside the asphalt off of the curb 3. Remove existing Fire Hydrant at the intersection of College Ave and 2nd St. 4. Install new Mueller 5 1/4” Fire Hydrant with valve at above location. 5. Connect new main to existing 8” tee at College Ave and 2nd St. use mega-lug. 6. Close old valve and install 6” cap on cast iron line where old fire hydrant was connected. 7. Fittings needed; 1, MJ 90’ 8”, 1, 8”x8”x6” Tee and 1, 8”x8”x8” Tee and valve with plug for future line going west on College Ave. All fittings shall have mega lugs installed. 8. Install 116 C.Y. of compacted rock backfill 9. Install 9 C.Y. of asphalt 10. Install 4 C.Y. concrete 11. Test and sterilize, water sample for water main. 12. Connect existing water services (4) and install 2- 1”meter pits where curb boxes are located. 13. Return surfaces to preexisting conditions with asphalt and or concrete. 14. All work shall meet AWWA water main construction standards. 15. All PVC pipe shall have a #12 copper clad tracer wire attached. 16. Water main shall have a minimum of 42” cover.
