Logan International Airport currently has over 280 charging ports airside in service for use by ground support equipment (GSE). The below graphic displays the general location of the existing charging stations. Future expansion is needed in North and South Cargo as well as what is displayed on the graphic. Additional charging stations, require user commitments to convert fossil fuel equipment to electric. These user commitments are the pinnacle of the projects final scope. The equipment conversion commitments are required prior to design, bidding and installation of changing infrastructure. To date Massport’s airline and ground handler partnerships have resulted in conversion of over 200 units to electric in addition to commitments to convert approximately 250 units to electric in the next 3 years. Review the Authority’s overall program for the installation of additional electrical charging stations to service electrically-powered ground support equipment airside at Logan International Airport.
