Description | The BID includes the following: Schedule I - Construct South Apron and Taxiway Connector Construction for this project is expected to take 70 Working Days. The major work involved in the proposed project includes: Excavation, suitable embankment, subbase and base course, cement treated base, asphalt surface course, pavement markings, drainage, electrical conduit and cable, taxiway edge lights, signage, and apron area lights . Bid Conditions. The bidder is required to provide all information as required within the Contract Documents. The bidder is required to bid on all items of every schedule or as otherwise detailed in the Information for Bidders. Bids may be held by the City of St. George for a period not to exceed 45 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of evaluating bids prior to award of contract. Bid Bond. The 100% performance - labor and materials bond will be required on this project. Every BID shall be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid, naming the City of St. George as obligee. This bid bond must be issued by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Utah and be on a bond form acceptable to the City of St. George. Certificate of Legal Work Status. As required by St. George City Code 1-10B-14 a signed certificate of legal work status for the BIDDER must accompany the BID. City of St. George reserves the right to reject any, or all BIDS, or to waive any formality or technicality in any BID, in the interest of the City. Performance & Payment Bond. The successful bidder will be required to furnish separate performance and payment bonds each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. DBE Requirement. The requirements of 49 CFR part 26 apply to this contract. It is the policy of the City of St. George to practice nondiscrimination based on race, color, sex, or national origin in the award or performance of this contract. The Owner encourages participation by all firms qualifying under this solicitation regardless of business size or ownership. The St. George Regional Airport has a DBE participation goal to be obtained through race/gender-neutral means of 1.98%. Contractor shall provide a certified statement signed by the subcontractors, indicating actual amounts paid to the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) subcontractors and/or suppliers that were used on the project through race neutral means.
