Contract to provide painting services for The School Board of Orange County, Florida on an as needed basis. 2. Types of painting and related materials and systems are not necessarily limited to the following: A. Concrete B. Concrete masonry units C. Gypsum drywall systems D. Plaster ceilings E. Stained woodwork F. Ferrous metal G. Zinc-coated metal A. Surface preparation, surface treatment, priming, painting, and finish coating of exposed interior and exterior items and surfaces. B. Work will not involve lead based paint removal or abatement. It may involve cleaning of lead based paint surfaces. It may involve surface preparation on lead containing paint. It may involve painting over surfaces with lead based paint. C. Paint exposed surfaces whether or not colors are designated in “schedules,” except where a surface or material is specifically indicated not to be painted or is to remain natural. Where an item or surface is not specifically mentioned, paint the same as similar adjacent materials or surfaces. If color or finish is not designated, the OCPS will select from standard colors or finishes available. D. Painting includes field painting exposed bare and covered pipes and ducts (including colorcoding), hangers, exposed steel and ironwork, and primed metal surfaces of mechanical and electrical equipment. E. When painting exterior wall surfaces remove a minimum of 6 inches of dirt and paint exposed surface and backfill after the paint has dried. This will be determined on project by project basis. F. Painting is not required on pre-finished items, finished metal surfaces, concealed surfaces, operating parts, and labels. G. Repainting of graphics will be determined on project by project basis.
