Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) IWTP Replacement - Albina Yard

The project scope includes the construction of a new industrial wastewater treatment plant (IWTP) and rehabilitation of the industrial wastewater collection system. The location of the new IWTP will be between the existing up smokestack at the yard and the Fremont bridge. The construction of the new IWTP includes a new 4,400 square foot building with office, storage, electrical room, treatment/effluent room, restroom and emergency generator, and a 240,000 gallon field constructed surge tank for temporary storage of industrial wastewater and contact stormwater. The IWTP includes an oil/water separator, a dissolved air floatation system, a 6,000 gallon sludge tank, a 20,000 gallon equalization tank, and a 10,000 gallon used oil tank. The new IWTP will serve the diesel shop building and trackside fueling platform and process Industrial wastewater and contact stormwater from both locations will discharge to the new IWTP through new lift stations and grit chambers and new or rehabilitated IW piping for on-site pretreatment prior to discharge to the POTW via the City of Portland sanitary sewer.
