Salado Creek Bike Trail Project

In general, the work consists of rehabilitating and constructing new asphalt concrete trail to create approximately 6,500 linear feet of continuous bike and pedestrian path along Salado Creek and American Eagle Avenue from near Sweet Briar Drive to Cliff Swallow Drive. An existing concrete culvert will be modified to create an undercrossing for the new bike path under Sperry Avenue. Masonry and concrete retaining walls will be constructed along both sides of the approaches to the undercrossing. 273 trees will be planted along the path and a new irrigation system will be installed. Approximately 48 trail lights will be installed along the path and connected to existing electrical services. A new storm drain pump station will be constructed at the low point near the undercrossing. Existing water and storm drain pipes will be adjusted to fit the proposed improvements
