Description | The Board reserves the right on demand and without notice all the vendor files associated with a subsequent contract where payments are based on contractor record of time, salaries, materials, or actual expenses. This same clause will apply to any subcontractors assigned to the contract. Bonds must be in a form satisfactory to the School District and underwritten by a company licensed to issue bonds in the State of Alabama. If bid security fails to accompany the bid, it shall be deemed unresponsive, unless the Purchasing Manager deems the failure to be nonsubstantial. All checks will be returned to the bidders within five (5) days after the contract has been Board approved. If a performance bond is required, the successful bidder will be notified after the awarding of the contract. Davis-Bacon Act, as amended (40 U.S.C. 3141-3148). When required by Federal program legislation, all prime construction contracts in excess of $2,000 awarded by non-Federal entities must include a provision for compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act (40 U.S.C. 3141-3144, and 3146-3148) as supplemented by Department of Labor regulations (29 CFR Part 5, "Labor Standards Provisions Applicable to Contracts Covering Federally Financed and Assisted Construction"). In accordance with the statute, contractors must be required to pay wages to laborers and mechanics at a rate not less than the prevailing wages specified in a wage determination made by the Secretary of Labor. In addition, contractors must be required to pay wages not less than once a week Relocate an undetermined number of portable classrooms which are stationed on various public school campuses throughout Mobile County, Alabama. The relocation may include moving the building from one area to another area on the same campus, or moving from one campus to another campus within Mobile County. Each building to be moved is approximately 26' x 32', wooden structure, positioned on piers, and weighs 25,000 - 35,000 lbs. The contractor shall furnish all equipment required to move the buildings. The contractor will be responsible for all supplies including tie-downs, blocks, etc. required to meet codes when portable is set in place at new location. Raise, load, and transport the buildings to any school in the district. F. The contractor shall move the buildings as one complete unit no matter the size. The buildings will not be broken apart to be relcoated. G. Set building in designated place. The structure shall be set on piers in a manner to distribute the weight evenly, and to insure stability and safety. Contractor shall be responsible for set-up and tie down (anchor) of units moved. H. Contractor shall transport all piers and steps associated with each building moved. I. Contractor shall provide escort services for each building transported over a public highway. J. The Coordinator of the School Boards Maintenance Department will designate the placement site for the classroom. K. The successful bidder must provide the requested services within forty-eight (48) hours after notification by theCoordinator of the Maintenance Department. L. The successful bidder shall be completely responsible for any damages caused to the building, its contents, or the school campus as a direct result of the work being performed. M. Upon completion of the work, the contractor shall clean up any debris related to the project including removal of old tie-downs fromsite. N. Contractor must be certified by Alabama Manufactured Housing Commission and provide all license, fees and decalsto meet requirements. The School Board Maintenance Department will be responsible for the disconnection and reconnection of all utilities involved with the move.
