Description

As of July 17 , 2023, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline or award has not yet been established. The proposed project includes replacing and upgrading components of the existing Brown Street Pump Station. These components include: the removal and complete replacement of pump and electrical controls, along with new standby generator and Automatic Transfer Switch, flow meter installation, bypass pump connection, wet well rehabilitation and coating, and all associated bypass pumping. The proposed project also includes the construction of an intermediate pump station along NC Hwy 130, as well as the replacement of five (5) Air Release Valves and the installation of four (4) new Air Release Valves along the existing force main. The project is located within the Town of Fairmont incorporated limits. The construction shall be performed in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications and shall produce a complete and working system upon completion. CDBG No. 15-I-158 & 20-I-3608 This project is being funded in whole or in part by the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG). All federal CDBG requirements will apply to the contract: Bidders on this work will be required to comply with Section 109 and E.O. 11246 which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Davis Bacon Act, Anti-Kickback Act, and Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. The Town is committed to and supportive of efforts to effectively maintain and/or increase the use of Small and Minority/Women-Owned Business and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) contract participation for Construction Projects, services (including professional and consulting services) and commodities purchases, AND increase contract participation to offer employment, training and contracting opportunities in accordance with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968.
