Project work consists of an EB Auxiliary Lane MP 185-190, WB Curve Corrections MP 186 & 188, Shoulder Widenings MP 180-185, Vail Pass Truck Parking Area, SMSE Walls, Wildlife Underpasses, Wildlife Fencing, Avalanche Mitigation Fencing, Drainage Items, Closure System EB MP 180, ITS Backbone Relocation WB MP 185-190, ITS Improvements MP 185-190, Landscaping, and Mill and Overlay EB MP 179.5-185 outside lane. Fixed Completion Date: 11/6/2026 Description: The contractor shall restore I-70 at a minimum to its full original lane widths of 4- foot inside shoulders, two 12-foot lanes, and an outside 10-foot shoulder by November 7, 2025. The roadway shall have full compliance signing and epoxy striping. All traffic lanes and shoulders shall be open and free from traffic control devices, including temporary barrier, and free from all obstructions for snow removal. Any pavement widening shall match adjacent existing pavement grade and have final side slopes or guardrail installed.
