Description | SCOPE OF WORK • Demolition Coordinate with the owner prior to turning off the unit. Disconnect power from existing unit and lock and tag out all energy sources. Remove wiring and conduit back to the existing safety disconnect unless otherwise instructed by the owner to leave the existing wiring. Evacuate and decommission the existing unit in accordance with regulatory requirements. The contractor shall dispose of or recycling the decommissioned and removed systems. • Ducting and Air Distribution Re-use existing ductwork. Include any modification necessary to transition and terminate to the existing ductwork. Test and balance each newly installed unit. Perform an air ductwork assessment and if deficiencies found, make recommendations for repairs. Repairs maybe addressed at the owner’s discretion. • Installation Comply with manufacturer’s installation guidelines Install units plumb and level Perform complete installation, start-up, verification, testing and air balancing per manufacturers recommendations. DE Benton WTP – Potassium Permanganate: Abandon the underground refrigerant lines and run new lines overhead. Utilize existing unit-strut racks for pipe wherever possible. • Controls Connect new HVAC equipment to the existing thermostat and/or controls. Only where necessary for compatibility, update the thermostat As needed remove and reinstall existing duct smoke detectors. Notify owner prior to disconnecting or tampering with duct detectors so the alarm system can be placed into maintenance mode • Roof Work to Support HVAC Equipment Changes Include any roof and/or equipment curb work to support the equipment changes. • HVAC Unit General Specifications The replacement units shall be from one of the following manufacturers. FHP Energy System, Carrier, Daikin/Mcquay, Trane or, approved equal. Minimum efficiency shall meet the North Carolina State Building Code |
