Description | In accordance with the Specifications prepared by Bramhall Engineering and Surveying Company (the Engineer), the project consists of placing traffic paint and pavement markings within the corporation limits of the City of Vermilion. The City of Vermilion is a governmental agency, exempt from any Local, State and Federal sales taxes. All questions by prospective bidders concerning this project shall be directed, in writing, to the Vermilion City Engineer, Chris Howard, P.E., at choward@bramhall-engineering.com. Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid Security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said Surety. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, service and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative code Chapter 123 is required. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Erie County, Ohio and Lorain County, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration, (614) 644-2239. If the City determines to award the contract, the City will award it based on the lowest and best bid as determined in the discretion of the City. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein. Bidders must purchase plan and bid documents from the owner to be considered an eligible bidder. The Contractor shall diligently prosecute the Work and shall complete all Work so that Final Acceptance occurs on or before November 1, 2022, following the date set forth in the Notice to Proceed, unless an extension of time is granted by the City in accordance with the Contract Documents. The period of time established by the preceding sentence is referred to herein as the time for Contract Completion. |
