Description | Replace all underground electrical feeder lines for the state prison facility in Trenton, New Jersey. The feeder lines are those originating in the powerhouse and traversing through electric manholes 1 and 2 (EMH-1 and EMH-2) and terminating at switchgear or splice boxes in the south compound (south wing). EMH-1 and EMH-2 will be replaced. Storm water upgrades to mitigate flooding into each manhole and in parking areas outside the north compound will be required. Flooding in the manholes and poor drainage in the area of the prison has caused the existing high voltage feeder lines to be exposed to water and has resulted in corrosion of transmission lines and terminations. The existing storm water drainage system is well past its usable life span. The storm drainage system is reported to have collapsed in several places that include the parking lots, allowing storm water to infiltrate the steam and electrical utilities. |
