Force Main Replacement for Avent Ferry Pump Station

This project consists of replacing approximately 8,500 linear feet of the existing 8” sanitary sewer force main line with a larger 18” pipe to provide additional capacity of the system and increase efficiency of the Avent Ferry sanitary sewer pump station between the pump station and the Utley Creek Wastewater Treatment facility. Partially located within an existing sanitary sewer in the Braxton Village and Holly Glen neighborhoods, this project will be constructed by directional drilling, conventional boring and jacking methods. Temporary bypass piping will allow segments of the existing 8” force main to be isolated and replaced as well. Furthermore, the construction of five combination air valve manholes, the installation of various appurtenances, the restoration of disturbed areas, street pavement, and curb & gutter damaged by the pipeline construction will be included in the work.
