Description

Franklin County, NC is seeking Proposals for removal of water service meters 2” and less in diameter which are manual meter reading, totaling approximately 8,750 active accounts with new water meters and meter reading systems. The new meter system should use a hybrid of both Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) drive-by and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) fixed-base technologies. The AMI fixed-base technology portion of the AMR-AMI Water Meter Replacement Project (Project) shall be within a specified geographic boundary within the Franklin County service area. The meters outside of the AMI boundary will utilize AMR radio-read meters and will be migratable to AMI technology in the future. The new AMR-AMI system will include all necessary hardware and software for reading meters and creating billing files and will be integrated with existing billing systems and processes.
