Description

This project design consists of expanding the existing stormwater conveyance by-pass ditch which provides an outflow connection from the Goodlette Frank Road western roadside ditch, heading east to the Gordon River. The work includes construction of two (2) in-line control structures including a new fixed crest weir at the upstream western end where the pump station is located, and constructing a one-hundred eighty foot (180’) long spillway/spreader swale at the downstream eastern end where the water will overland flow through onsite receiving natural wetlands. There is approximately two-hundred seventy feet (270’) of the eastern most portion of the existing ditch that is proposed as a restoration area. The project will widen the existing ditch to approximately 65 feet from top of bank to top of bank and create an adjacent fifteen-foot (15’) maintenance travel way along the entire length of the south side top of the bank. The work also includes construction of two utility access – channel crossings with box culverts.
