Water Systems Improvements Project - Division 3

Division 3 includes refurbishment of the Water Treatment Plant. A new building addition will be added to the existing water treatment plant to accommodate for three (3) new high service pumps and vertical pressure filters. The final plant effluent piping will be tied into the distribution system following chlorine and orthophosphate chemical injection. The two (2) existing high service pumps and (3) vertical pressure filters will then be removed from the existing building to allow space for chemical containment for sodium hypochlorite and polyphosphate as well as a sample sink for taking plant samples. Well 4 influent piping will be modified to allow for an influent bypass of the aerator/detention tank to the new high service pumps. Influent piping from Well 3 inside the existing facility will be replaced once the Well 4 bypass is added. Another aeration/detention tank bypass will be added inside the building to allow for well 3 and 4 raw water to bypass the detention tank/aerator for future inspection of the tank. When using the bypass, oxidation will be achieved using sodium hypochlorite injection at the wells. Only treated water may be fed into the distribution system therefore the new treatment system in the building addition must be commissioned prior to the existing treatment system being taken off line.
