CLT Passenger Terminal Building D/E Connector Renovations and Addition (DECO)

The Terminal Building D/E Connector Renovation and Addition (DECO) project will renovate and expand the terminal space that connects Concourses D and E, to improve passenger circulation and provide additional floor space for concessions. The project will include a new mezzanine level for a passenger club, airfield apron work to include new loading docks, storage space, and a reconfiguration of the tug road to maintain connectivity between Concourses C and E. On March 13, 2023, City Council approved a contract with C Design Inc. for Design Services. The previous RFQ solicitation is available below for reference: This project entails the renovation of the eastern portion of the passenger terminal building, often referred to as the D/E Connector, as well as a building addition to the south of this connector. The renovation scope of work will encompass approximately 67,000 square feet of shell space to accommodate concessions opportunities and airline offices. The current American Airlines Admirals Club program will require expansion of the building, creating a new 40,000 square foot club shell space. See images below for project boundaries. The project scope includes the following items: Repositioning the major passenger circulation route of the D/E connector between the Atrium to the end of the moving walkways at the approach of Concourse D. Relocating the airline lounge space from the Ticketing level to an upper-level location while expanding it to 40,000 square feet Providing a new passenger destination and experience at the Ticketing level that will provide increased financial returns to the airport Providing service area at the Ramp level to accommodate operational needs per the project program American Airline (AA) Club - 40,000 sf Concessions - 30,000 sf AA Offices - 16,000 sf Loading docks and service courts For questions please contact Nakia McDonald Nakia.McDonald@cltairport.com The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
