Bidwell Street, Cheney Street, Esther Street and City Hall Alley Improvements

The work shall generally consist of: hot-mix asphalt surface removal - butt joint, temporary ramp, hotmix asphalt surface removal, 2", bituminous materials (prime coat), hot-mix asphalt surface course, IL-9.5 mix "C", N50, aggregate wedge shoulder, type B, pavement marking/striping, traffic control and protection and other related work. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the City of Taylorville, Illinois or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as required by the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and by the Contract documents must be paid on this Project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their of race, creed, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, or physical or mental handicap, and that certain other requirements do apply since the Contract if awarded will be by a public governmental entity. An award of bid, if made, shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. Bids may be held by the City of Taylorville for a period of _45days from the date of the opening of Bids tor the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. The City of Taylorville, Illinois reserves the right to reject any or all bids, any or all bid items, and to waive any and all irregularities or informalities in the bids and/or bidding process and/or in the award of bids.
