Z--Replace Steam Heat and Distribution System & Repair Exterior Structure and FACA

The National Park Service has a requirement for replace of the existing steam heat system, and structural repairs of the Easton Building located at the Boston National Park. The requirement consists of: Removal of an existing steam heat system and installation of a new steam heat exchanger system, including replacing the building-wide distribution piping. Replacement of an emergency power generator that provides power for elevators, protection systems, and emergency lighting. Replace fluorescent lighting electric ballast and bulbs with LED fixtures with lighting controls. Repair of corrosion-caused damaged to the steek frame and repair of facade stone and masonry brick. Work includes removal and replacement of a basement ceiling and the pedestrian sidewalk above it and associated structural framing, and installation of an Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) system to prevent further corrosion of the steel superstructure. Rehabilitation of granite facade includes rake and repoint, repair, cleaning, replacing veneer panels, windowsills, window heads and jack arches. Work will remove wythe brick to ensure secure anchorage of facade stones. Window rehabilitation includes installation of steel lintels, paint double hung wood sashes/frames, and monumental cast iron fenestration and remove and replace suspected asbestos laden window frame caulk
