Description | Fort Jackson has facilities that utilize various types of openings (doors) that require maintenance and repair on an “as needed” basis. These doors vary in size and type as required for the proper function of that facility. Various types of facilities include vehicle maintenance, facility maintenance, range maintenance, dining facilities (DFACs), vehicle storage, administration and warehousing. Maintenance and repair is required when these doors malfunction in some way. Some doors have automatic openers, guide tracks, sensors, and may include regular doors, roll up doors, sliding track doors and entry way doors. Additionally some doors may function as automatic handicap accessible doors. A specific quantity of doors is not known as every facility includes doors that may require maintenance and repair. However, this contract is mainly reserved for doors that require special expertise like automatic opening doors. Specific manufacturers of these doors vary and represent a wide array of engineering design and functional technology. Repair and maintenance of these doors may require specific training and expertise. This Statement of Work (SOW) represents maintenance and repair that is required to restore these various doors to a “like new” condition and/or may require replacement with “all new” door systems. Often doors function as part of a system that is specific to the mission taking place in the facility. Historically, this service has been supported through a contract. Service calls have averaged two to three per month. The contractor will also do semi-annual Preventative Maintenance on ten (10) overhead doors at Building 2602, 23 overhead doors at Building 2603 and 20 overhead doors at Building 2604. Contractor shall furnish labor and materials required to restore failing doors to a fully functional condition. Contractor shall furnish labor and materials required to replace failed doors as originally intended for the functional use of the facility. If parts are found to be failing or need replacement, the contractor will submit a proposal for preapproval to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) before performing the repair work. |
