Description

The project areas include the following: 1. Deering Avenue, west side sidewalk: Park Avenue to the first driveway entrance at King Middle School 2. St. John Street, west side sidewalk: Park Avenue to 295 overpass 3. Park Avenue, north side: 239 Park Avenue Expo Frontage 4. Forest Avenue, east side sidewalk: Deerfield Avenue to Preble Street Extension 5. Forest Avenue, west side sidewalk: 364 Forest Avenue Oakhurst Frontage The project includes, but, is not limited to the following items: 1. Demolition of existing sidewalk, including brick, bituminous and or concrete segments. 2. Installation of new reinforced concrete sidewalk . 3. Installation of new and reset granite curbing. 4. Re construction of pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards. It is expected that meeting ADA standards may be challenging in some locations within the project area due to complexities of existing grading and site features, but doing so is critical to the project. 5. Reconstruction of driveways to match existing grades behind the back-of-sidewalk and maintain no more than a 2% cross-slope for pedestrian travel across driveways, where possible. 6. Installation of new crosswalks with rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs). 7. Installation of rain garden and other storm water features at Forest Avenue and Lincoln Street.
