Description | The project will generally consist on the reconstruction of the northern portion of the aircraft parking apron. The project will be bid with a base bid and an additive bid described as follows: Base Bid generally consists of the reconstruction of approximately 7,000 square yards of existing aircraft parking apron. The existing pavement, which is 2" asphalt over 6" of crushed aggregate base course, will be removed. Minor subgrade earthwork will be performed prior to installation of the new pavement section, which will be 4" of new bituminous surface course (placed in two equal lifts) over 6" of Macadam base course. The work will also include approximately 120 square yards of 6" thick concrete pavement, removal and replacement of aircraft tiedowns, pavement markings and erosion control. Additive Bid generally consists of the reconstruction of approximately 2,200 square yards of existing taxilane pavement. The existing pavement, which is 6" concrete, will be removed. Minor subgrade earthwork will be performed prior to installation of the new pavement section, which will be 4" of new bituminous surface course (placed in two equal lifts) over 6" of Macadam base course. The work will also include approximately 120 square yards of 6” thick concrete pavement, pavement markings and erosion control. |
