Demolition, site work, remodeling, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Salt Lake City, Utah. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the remodel of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; library; library; library; library; and library. Scope of Work: Remodel is of an existing restroom suite and addition of a classroom within the Marriott Library at the University of Utah. The remodel scope is a reconfiguration of two existing restrooms to create a restroom area with individual toilet stalls and a shared lavatory area as well as family restrooms, and the addition of a classroom on the second floor of the building. Bids will be in accordance with the Contract Documents prepared by University of Utah U Facilities and MHTN ARCHITECTS, hereinafter referred to as "A/E" as defined in the General Conditions. Construction Constraints: Project encompasses two different scopes of work on separate areas of the library. Contractor will be working in an occupied space and will need to communicate disturbances and try to keep them to a minimum. The University of Utah reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any formality or technicality in any bid in the interest of the University. The Bid Bond in the amount not less than five percent (5%) of the above bid sum, shall become the property of the University of Utah as liquidated damages for delay and additional expense caused thereby in the event that the contract is not executed and/or acceptable 100% Performance and Payment Bonds are not delivered within the time set forth.
