Description

**Only prequalified bidders will be allowed to submit a Bid on this project.** Q/A deadline - December 21,2023 Recognized by Newsweek as the top transformative high school in the nation for three years in a row, The Preuss School UC San Diego is a unique charter middle and high school for low income students who strive to become the first in their families to graduate from college. Located on the UC San Diego campus, our students come from throughout San Diego County to take advantage of an environment that encourages intellectual risk-taking while offering an array of academic supports. The University seeks Contractors with demonstrated experience in installing/replacing exterior fencing/gates at schools/universities while facilities are in full operation. Specific experience requirements include; installation/replacement offences/gates at fully occupied schools; site work involving demolition and underground footings; The Contractor shall have demonstrated an average annual business revenue of at least $3,000,000 over the last five (5) consecutive years. The Contractor must have demonstrated experience on their best three (3) comparable projects with the Contractor providing services as Prime General Contractor within the last ten (10) years Projects should have possessed the following construction challenges: site work with limited staging area; and other work within/around an operational school; urban site with limited construction and staging areas; working in/around an active school; phasing/coordinating work activities while ensuring public safety is maintained 24/7; address unforeseen conditions in a timely manner while maintaining schedule; and management of multiple functions/phases and critical paths to meet tight deadline. In addition, the University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations understate and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. Potential bidders will be required to submit their small business outreach plan to the University as part of the prequalification process. All information requested in these forms must be provided in order to be considered "responsive" to the requirements ofthe prequalification.
